Why Projects Fail

Most projects fail because of misinformation, everyone blaming everyone else, a common excuse is, "This is what I was told to do!"

We can help your people manage communications to insure that everyone in your organization knows what they are doing and what everyone else is doing.

How often have you heard that the most common cause of a ruined relationship was poor communications?   How often have you heard that the most common cause of a failed project or business venture was poor communications?

We have all heard the first, yet very few of us know about the second. Every day users are given a new software program, either purchased or custom developed and we hear them say, "What is this? This isn't what I wanted!" Sometimes they say nothing but their productivity fails to improve and sometimes declines. When we ask why, they complain about the software, "It is too hard to use! It doesn't really do what I need it to do!"

Why does this happen? Easy, poor communications.

This happens because the developer did not communicate effectively with the user (or maybe not at all). So the developer created what they thought the user wanted rather than what the user really wanted.

This is a common and costly problem. The solution is to get help doing the design and analysis. Find someone who understands how to communicate with both parties. Then you will get designs that are easy to use and do what the user wants.

Then we get enterprise integration. Many companies have accounting systems, sales and marketing systems, human resources systems, and a myriad of other systems none of which talk to each other.

Management finds itself having to delve into a dozen different reports and spending half the time trying to correlate the data. So management decides they want one big system.

Enterprise integration can be a very expensive disaster. When it is, the reason is always failed communications. Each and every department has needs, often conflicting needs. Compromise is required and good communications is essential.

Don't get caught in a maze of misinformation and communications failures. Get The Church Solution to insure all your communications are good.
